A Whole Year!

Small Successes vol. 52

It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.

To participate, just write up a list of 3 of your recent Small Successes and post it on your blog along with the Small Successes button (go here to get the code). You are not required to use the button, but please do link back to the main post here. Then you can add your blog here using the Mr. Linky form (please link to the individual blog post, not the home page of your blog).

If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Small Successes in the comments.

To get us started, here are my small successes for this week:

1. This our 52nd week of chronicling Small Successes together here at Faith & Family. That’s a whole year of small but certain forward progress. Go us! Let’s keep it up!

2. I cleaned out the mudroom. There was still baseball stuff in there ... buried beneath the snow gear.

3. I have successfully added the noontime Angelus to my family’s prayer time. Thanks to my droid phone’s polite little reminders, we never forget!

Now it’s your turn! I love reading about everyone’s successes every week. Don’t be shy—tell us all about it!

Great job on the Angelus Danielle!  That’s something that I would like to do with the family as well, but have never made it a priority.  Perhaps a Lenten challenge?

Oh - this list just makes me feel peaceful! Great week Danielle!!!!

1.  For DH’s bday, I had dinner ready before he got home (a ground beef, rice and cheese casserole with assorted veggies - it was delicious!) and even pulled off a baked cheesecake for dessert.  Found him the gift I had been wanting to get him and it was 70% off!
2.  I cleaned out the laundry room: dusted and washed the tops of washer and dryer, cleared off the junk that had accumulated on the table I use to fold clothing, vaccuumed and spot-cleaned the floor (and did a little victory dance!).
3.  I got caught up on an email message that I’ve been meaning to write to a friend who is struggling in her relationship with her DH.

1. I sat and listened to my son’s explanations about a droid and a submarine and something else, even though I just plain did not want to.

2. I took my 6 kids to mass even though I just plain did not want to. I wanted to go by myself.

3. I have forced myself to keep track of our spending this week (via mint.com—a great site) even though I did not want to. It is not a budget yet, but at least I am keeping track for a start.

Well—I arrived at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport exactly… exactly 2 hours early… that’s good news and something done right. BUT… I would have been 2 hours and 15 minutes earlier had I not been stopped for speeding on a desert highway. He was a very nice patrolman…. very respectful…. but I still own a ticket which I’ll have to work on getting removed from my driving record (by attending an on-line defensive driving course). BTW—security processing was almost walk up and be served…. I could have driven much slower and still made it thru security nicely. That’ll teach me…

Happy one year anniversary for SMALL SUCCESSES!
I LOVE the Angelus…we join you each day!
Great job on that mud room…wow! You are organized and on TOP of things…no wonder your hubby took you to the movies and bought you new shoes!!!!!!!
GOOD GOING!

Thank so much for hosting! It really is a bright encouraging spot in my week. smile

It seems Mr. Linky is having problems this afternoon.  I’ve refreshed the page several times over the past few hours, but can’t find everyone else’s links (or post mine).  I know they were here earlier!  Anyway, my post is at http://thinkaboutthesethings.blogspot.com/2010/01/small-successes-back-at-last.html

1. Organised a sleep over for my son, so hubby and I could have a child free night to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary tonight.
2. Took my son swimming even though we had to catch the bus because hubby had the car.
3.Played armies with my son.

Congrats on your small successes!  I posted mine on my blog yesterday, but just got the link up this morning!  I hope you can stop by!

Blessings and peace, Lisa

I love this!  Such a simple thing but really gave me a boost to focus on what I have done!

1.  Took sewing class last night, after two years of dust accumulating on sewing machine.  2.  Used sewing machine today, made very first sewing craft - A pillow.  3.  Taught my 5 year old lower case letters.  Life is good.
