Are You a Storyteller?

I love a good story. One game our family has always loved to play together is something we call the “story game”. One of us will begin a story and then “tag” the next family member, who continues to weave the tale for a moment or two until it’s his turn to tag, and so on. We can play the “story game” for hours and have crafted some pretty fabulous tales over the years.
With three voracious readers in our home, our bookshelves are lined with fiction in all shapes and sizes. I love it, and can never find enough time to lose myself in a great story. So I was excited today to see the announcement by one of my good friends online, Patrice Fagnant-MacArthur, that she has started a new home for “Catholic Blog Fiction” on the web.
I’ll admit to having a Catholic novel in outline form, just waiting to be shared with the world. Patrice is inviting each of us to come and share our stories online in this new format. She shares:
“Welcome to the home for Catholic Blog Fiction on the web. What is Blog Fiction? Following the tradition of serial stories that were the mainstay of magazines years ago, this is fiction in small segments. Come enjoy these fiction stories and support Catholic fiction.”
I’m intrigued by the prospect of visiting this site on a regular basis to get my fill of Catholic fiction that at times is sorely lacking in the world of mainstream publishing. Once I finish work on my current writing project (if I ever do!) I hope to contribute some of the stories that live inside my head to Catholic Blog Fiction.
Do you love to tell stories? If so, why not drop Patrice a note and share your work with others?! And since we’re on the topic of wonderful stories today, I’d love to hear your suggestions for great fiction you’ve read lately. I’m always up for a great story!
