Excellent, ladies!
Avoiding Facebook Failures and False Idols

This week on the Faith & Family Live Cast (click here to listen or click on the player above), Danielle, Elizabeth and I take on two interesting topics. In our first segment, we look at supervising our teenagers’ (and our own!) usage of social media platforms such as Facebook. For some great guidelines and thoughts on these topics, check out two recent posts here and here. What are some of your family’s rules for the use of social networking by the teens in your home? We’d love to hear your trials, triumphs and tribulations on this topic.
This week’s Faith & Family Feature product is the wonderful artwork of Catholic Artist Jeffrey Larson. Be sure to learn more about Jeffrey’s art and enter to win a beautiful piece of Catholic artwork over at CatholicMom.com.
In our final segment, we discuss a difficult but timely topic. Disturbing recent events have many of us nursing wounds and mulling over the importance of not making “idols” of human heroes of any kind. Not all of them do, of course, but many of them disappoint us. How do you handle feelings like this in yourself? How do you protect yourself against feelings of disillusionment? Is keeping up with the Catholic blogosphere sometimes challenging to your faith life? How do you handle these kinds of topics with your kids?
We would love to have your feedback. You can call and leave us a message on our listener feedback line at 1-413-FAITH-55 (or 1-413-324-8455). Leave us a comment, ask a question, make a suggestion or share your thoughts on this or other podcasts we’ve shared. We’d love to hear from you!
