Lisa, you might assume I do a lot of business traveling after we met in two states in the same week last month, but I only make major trips about three times a year.
I am getting a routine (though not to your level) I now have specific traveling outfits, bags, and gadgets.
I live in the country, so a trip to DC for pro-life activism or to Boston for Catholic media networking provides a change to reconnect with people in cities. I try to take my teenage daughter, she enjoys the travel and is great with technology.
My next trip is to Catholic TV in Boston for an interview on “This is the Day” about my book, “A Special Mother is Born”.
I am hoping to be invited to Hollywood for a screening of a certain CS Lewis film this December.
Casual Fridays - On the Road

In this week’s installment of Casual Fridays, I talk about how I personally prepare for business trips. A few keys for me are taking my morning prayer routine with me, “preplanning” my time as much as possible, checking on the technology that will be available in the places I visit, and leaving a “buffer day” of unscheduled time when I return to my home office. Does your job take you away from home or the office frequently? Do you enjoy business travel, or find it overly disruptive? How do you keep in touch with your family when you’re on the road? Finally, I’d love to hear your suggestions for upcoming installments of Casual Fridays!

Leticia - wow, keep us posted about your interview! That should be terrific! It’s great that your daughter can be a part of your travels too. We always love bringing our kids along on business trips whenever it’s possible.
