Cupcake Truck Hits Streets of New York

A bright young man asks, "Why can't a cupcake come to me?"

Yesterday I might have I heard some stuff about marriage in California and the president nominating someone to the Supreme Court ... I’m not sure.

You see, all the less important news stories drained quickly from my mind to make room for some real news when I stumbled upon this story:

Move over, Good Humor man. There’s a cupcake truck in town.

“This is a mobile city where everyone’s always on the go,” Ekster said. “I thought, ‘Let’s come to them.’ ” Along with a variety of cupcakes on different days—such as strawberry shortcake, peanut butter and jelly and one described as psychedelic tie dye—the truck will deliver gourmet coffee and other drinks.

Check out the Cupcake Stop website and, if you live in New York, follow them on Twitter to track the truck’s current location.

Wow. the only bad thing I can say about the idea of a mobile cupcake shoppe is that I didn’t think of it first.

Oh Ditto Danielle! I agree - why didn’t I think of this first! I am so sorry I’m so far away from New York right now!

How cute! It has been more than once that i’ve lamented to my husband (mostly during pregnancies) about the fact that there are no cake delivery guys like there are ones for pizza and chinese.

cupcake delivery…that is pure genius…i wish I’d thought of it…or that I lived in NY at least…

I wonder if the cupcake truck plays music to help put the kids into a pre-sugar frenzy like the ice cream trucks do. It’s a great concept.  You can eat them year round, they don’t melt and the lactose intolerant can happily line up for them.

I read my girls the news story linked to above.  By the end of it they were clapping and cheering, “Yay for that guy!  Woooo!”

The man’s going to be a multi-millionaire in no time. smile

Hey, just checked Cupcake Man’s Twitter page, Danielle. Is he one of your followers? How cool!

I am so craving cupcakes now, by the way!!!

In college, there was a company that would deliver freshly-baked, still-warm cookies to your dorm.  Does it get any better than that?

The Cupcake Truck is a new addition to the mobile munchies scene in New Haven, ... bread truck and hit the road in July 2008, quickly becoming New Haven staples. ...
