Since October is the month of the Rosary, and October 13th is the anniversary of what I like to call The Day God proved His Existence to the World (aka the miracle of the sun), I thought it would be a good idea to tell you about my husband’s job.
Bill is the escort of the National Pilgrim Virgin of Our Lady of Fatima. This statue was given to the World Apostolate of Fatima (formerly known as the Blue Army) by the Bishop of Fatima in 1967. It was also specially blessed by Pope Paul VI for the mission of spreading the message of Fatima in America.
The idea behind the Pilgrim Virgin is: you may not be able to make a pilgrimage to Fatima, but Our Lady is willing to come to you, begging, and she did at Fatima, for prayer and sacrifices in reparation for the sins of the world, and to convert sinners. There are other travelling Fatima statues besides this one, and you may have seen them. The World Apostolate of Fatima is an association of Pontifical Right, so you can be sure that its Pilgrim Virgin program operates with complete approval from Rome and from the diocese where it travels.
My husband, like other fine men who have held this position before him, travels around the country with the Pilgrim Virgin statue, appearing in churches and schools to tell people the remarkable story of Fatima, explain its relevance in our time, and teach people how simple, yet how important it is to carry out Our Blessed Mother’s requests.
Whether the crowds that come are hordes or handfuls, they are always moved by the sight of this gorgeous image combined with what they learn from Bill’s talk. When Bill calls home he often tells me about people who tell him they experience dramatic answers to prayers, conversions, and even healings after asking Our Lady’s intercession at these events.
Bill is spending the entire month of October in the archdiocese of Boston. If any of you are interested in attending a Pilgrim Virgin visit, here is the schedule for the rest of the month. Make sure to come up to Bill at the end of the evening and say “your wife sent me.” I’m sure he’ll be happy to meet some of my Faith and Family girlfriends!

Wow! That’s your husband? One of my sons was at the cathedral this morning with his 5th grade class for the event on your calendar! He’s not home yet, so I haven’t heard about it.
I’m hoping to go when she is at St. Williams or St. Michael’s!
Daria, saw Bill at my parish in Chicago, St. Thomas More. I said hi, as I’m from TAC, and he knew me right away, kind man that he is. I took away something from his talk to the congregation: Stop Complaining! It’s time to apply ALL to our Eternal Good! I so needed to hear that. I took away the prayer card and I’m going to say it with my kids. What a wonderful apostolate he’s doing. And you are making a great sacrifice too, parting with him while he travels to distant cities spreading love for Our Lady!
I would like a replica of the statue for my bedroom. I hope to be able to go to Fatima, Portugal in 2017 if I can save the money. Otherwise, will have to go to national shrine here.
I go to Saint Mary Parish in Chelmsford, so maybe next year…after all the month of October comes every year.
I have been so Blessed to have had the Pilgrim Statue at my home on Long Island, NY and then at The Mother of God Prayer Meeting, Molloy College, Rockville Centre, NY. Also I was able to go on a Pilgrimage to Fatima, Garabandal & Lourdes! Thanks be to Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much save souls! Amen and “Praise God+”
