Foundations of Religious Life

On this week’s podcast (click here to listen or click on the player above), I share my conversation with Sr. Mary Prudence Allen, R.S.M. who is one of the co-authors of The Foundations of Religious Life: Revisiting the Vision. Sr. Prudence shares her conversion story, as well as her answer to God’s call in her life, which came well into her professional career. We enjoyed a terrific chat about the optimistic state of women’s vocations in our country today.
Following on the heals of our discussions early this week about valuing vocations, my conversation with Sr. Prudence has me thinking about ways in which my family can support the Sisters in our community who have served us so faithfully over the years. Do you have Religious Sisters in your parish or community? How can we support and show our love for these women who do so much for our Church?
Everyone loves surprises. But only Chesterton realizes Who first thought about surprising us. What will you do to surprise your family today? Enjoy this week’s Chesterton Moment with Nancy Brown for the American Chesterton Society.
What’s that? The Leaky Deke? What the heck is that about? Today, Deacon Tom combines Confession, a visit by the Bishop and the Holy Spirit to help solve one of Tom’s problems.
This week, Sarah Reinhard shares a reflection on making grape jelly and the Blessed Mother’s upcoming birthday.
