Furry Friends and Talking Turkey

Two great topics and a fantastic Feature Product on this week's podcast

Download Podcast

This week on the podcast (click here to listen or click on the player above), Elizabeth Foss, Sarah Reinhard and I enjoy a morning chat.  We were so happy to receive feedback from listener Lisa about her great new blog, Catholic Mommy to Five

Our first topic this week deals with “furry friends”.  Elizabeth and Sarah share stories about dogs they have known and loved and Lisa shares the woes of being a hamster owner.  We also talk about responsible pet ownership, what our children can learn from caring for animals, and what steps to take if you’re considering adopting a new pet this holiday season.  Are you a pet owner?  What advice would you give to a family looking to bring a new cat or dog into the family?  Do you have any pet “horror stories” or inspiring stories about how sharing family life with a pet has impacted upon your children?

Faith & Family writer Tim Drake joins us to share about this week’s Faith & Family Feature Product, The Story of St. Perpetua.  This incredible DVD set from Catholic Heroes of the Faith tells the story of a young woman who took a stand for her faith.  Enter to win one of five copies of this DVD by calling our voice feedback line at 1-413- FAITH-55.

As we prepare for Thanksgiving, which is now only a week away, we talk about our traditions (or lack thereof) for this beloved holiday.  Listen in to find out how the Foss, Reinhard and Hendey families will be celebrating and giving thanks.  What are your plans for the day?  Does your family have any particular traditions or a favorite recipe?

We LOVE sharing your feedback!  You can call and send us a message on our new listener feedback line at 1-413- FAITH-55 (or 1-413-324-8455).  Leave us a comment, a question, a suggestion, or your own thoughts about topics we’ve discussed in our podcasts, or simply leave a comment here at the blog.  We’d love to hear from you!

Not sure if this is where I post to be entered to win the St. Perpetua DVD???  Enter me if you can!!

My kids have seen the trailer and love it and would love to have the movie.

My daughter is named after St. Felicity, who died along side St. Perpetua. I have such a hard time finding anything pertaining to St. Felicity. I’d love to win this for her to learn about her patron as she grows up. Thanks!

Sure, we’d love to win one for our house!

Please enter me in the contest also. My little ones love story tapes at bedtime! Thanks.

I just left a voice mail entering myself for the DVD.  Not sure if I made a whole lot of sense, but I really do love your blog and podcast.  Thanks for the contest!

My girls were Perpetua and Felicity for halloween one year.  I love inspiring videos instead of fluff.

would like to win one as a gift for my kids

Please enter me into the drawing for the St. Perpetua DVD.  I am always looking for solid Catholic resources, especially DVDs, for my young children.  Thank you!
