Holy Week Small Successes

vol. 110

It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.

To participate, just write up a list of 3 of your recent Small Successes and post it on your blog along with the Small Successes button (go here to get the code). You are not required to use the button, but please do link back to the main post here. Then you can add your blog here using the Mr. Linky form (please link to the individual blog post, not the home page of your blog).

If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Small Successes in the comments. To get us started, I will share my small successes for this week:

1. I got myself and four of my kids to confession yesterday afternoon. We waited almost an hour in line, but those graces were worth waiting for.

2. My floors are not exactly spotless, but I have a plan and two whole days till Easter. That’s pretty good, right?

3. We still have those two whole days till Easter and some of my kids have all of their Easter clothes already. This is early for me. This might just be the year where I can skip my inappropriate though unintentional tradition of spending hours at the mall on Good Friday.

Now it’s your turn. Please tell us all about the ways you got it right this week!

Great successes Danielle!  Are we living parallel lives LOL?
1.  Got to confession on “Reconciliation Monday.”  I waiting over an hour on line, but I was happy to see all those people there!
2.  Colored eggs with my Kindergarten class without a major spill!!  Whooo Whooo!  That was fun!  : )
3.  Have all my Easter Candy bought before Good Friday!

I must need this Easter vacation.  I meant to say “I waited over an hour…)

!.  I commissioned my teen girl to color eggs with the littles!  Yesterday!  Instead of “squeezing it in” on Holy Saturday while I snarl at everyone.

2.  I made some phone calls I’ve been putting off, and have kept my nose to my to-do list this week, as a matter of Lenten discipline.

3.  I (with lots of help) washed all bedding, vacuumed and flipped all mattresses in the house!  That’s my spring cleaning this week.

1) Finally catching up on homework, papers etc. Exactly 1 month till graduation!
2) Spent Palm Sunday with the friends I’ve been missing! Had a baby shower for one.
3) More job applications in.

1. Got the boys’ Easter Buckets ready.
2. Decided that 2 is still too young to dye eggs.
3. Went through a big box of baby clothes so the little chubber has the right size in his closet.

1. Got treats and little gifts for the Easter baskets for about 20$
2. Held my tongue on several occasions - it was so tempting to freak out but felt so good to realize I hadn’t! Huge success for me smile
3. Got an important application filled out and sent it in!

Those Easter outfits!  I’ve done the Good Friday shopping spree too. This year the one person who still needs a new dress can drive down the mall and do her own shopping, so I’m off the hook.

1.  Helped my neighbours renovate their entire house this week, while managing to keep dinner on the table each night.
2.  Got through all of the kids’ doctor appointments.
3.  Began my discernment program for my vocation.
I feel like a force of nature this week! smile

Small successes this week:

1. Updating my credential file info and getting two letters of recommendation for it.

2. Three successful trips out of the house with my beloved preemie, who did not fuss or get too cold at all!

3. Helping my preemie reach 6 lbs 2 oz!

Ugh, I have to do the Easter clothes today….although I don’t think I’ll shop today- maybe just try to figure out if everyone has something to wear.  I can shop tomorrow.  Last night getting ready for Mass I realized that we might need a couple of things.  But everyone looked good for Holy Thursday Mass!

These are awesome successes!  Congratulations!!
