Hey, we did it!
I am talking about that cute-looking Easter egg decorating craft from Kristen Laurence that I posted earlier this week, of course.
I’m pretty proud of myself, actually. This crafty stuff really does require me stepping outside of my comfort zone a bit.
We usually wait until Holy Saturday before decorating any eggs, but since I wasn’t sure how “penitential” this craft would wind up being for me, I figured we would save the easy PAAS coloring for Saturday and try this one out today.
There was a bit of stickiness. (Mod Podge? Awesome stuff!) Or maybe a lot of stickiness.
There were a few squabbles over paintbrushes. But not a lot of those.
And then there was an interview I had scheduled—that I very nearly forgot, but remembered just as the phone was ringing and I was knee-deep in egg shells and gluey Easter-themed napkins. But it went very well in the end.
And then there was this. The reality check I promised you. Here’s a look at the scene that awaited me when I returned from the phone call. Eggs were done, kids were watching television.
It was all right, though. Pretty much everything you see here is either disposable or water soluble. Totally worth it.
