It All Adds Up

It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.
To participate, just write up a list of 3 of your recent Small Successes and post it on your blog along with the Small Successes button (go here to get the code). You are not required to use the button, but please do link back to the main post here. Then you can add your blog here using the Mr. Linky form (please link to the individual blog post, not the home page of your blog).
If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Small Successes in the comments.
To get us started, here are my Small Successes for this week:
1. I made some important decisions about homeschooling next year. Unlike many of my Catholic mom blogging peers, I am not a homeschooling superstar—this kind of research and decision-making exhausts me. But I got through it, and I am happy with the plans we have for the coming school year. Phew!
2. I did a simple yard clean up. I recovered an astonishing number of “discarded” snow gloves and hats and filled the sandbox with fresh sand. Daniel is love with me now.
3. I answered “yes” to my 7-year-old at a time when I knew he really needed to hear “yes” but I really wanted to say “no.” It was painful, but I managed to do it without letting on. I think.
Well, that wasn’t easy! For some reason, some weeks I find it harder to focus on the small positive steps than others. That’s part of why I think this exercise is useful—it’s a nice reminder that little bits do count.
So now you go. I can’t wait to read yours, both here and at your blogs!
