It All Adds Up

It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.
To participate, just write up a list of 3 of your recent Small Successes and post it on your blog along with the Small Successes button (go here to get the code). You are not required to use the button, but please do link back to the main post here. Then you can add your blog here using the Mr. Linky form (please link to the individual blog post, not the home page of your blog).
If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Small Successes in the comments.
To get us started, here are my small successes for this week:
1. I managed to squelch my inner “happy dance” when a baseball game was called on account of a sudden thunderstorm earlier this week. I made dinner. And folded laundry. And swept the floors. Ah, the indulgence!
2. When it came to my attention that Daniel has been keeping a “pet” beetle in a desk drawer in the house, I did not freak out or demand its immediate removal. Instead, I calmly asked its name. Jennie. Naturally.
3. I have been working on saying “yes” and “no” as opposed to my usual “We’ll see” or “Maybe later.” I am hoping that this will ultimately lead to fewer drawn out begging sessions put on by my kids. It does, however, require immediate attention and decision making on my part, as well as follow through. (It’s the follow through that kills me.)
Now it’s your turn! Please share all the small but significant ways you’ve done the right thing this week.
