How about another week of vacation LOL!!! I need a vacation from my Christmas vacation!
DITTO!!!!! The whole family had a vicious stomach virus. From Dad on down to the 2 year old. This week was shot. Tomorrow will be the first day that no one (cross your fingers!) will be cemented to the bathroom floor. So if you start a petition to have one more week, I’ll be the first to sign!

Does anyone have any great ideas for the first January week back to school for first graders? Any ideas for Epiphany or something to get them back in to the routine, but still fun?
I second this question, but for preschool age.
When my oldest boys were this age (4 and 6), we made crowns out of construction paper and glitter and whatever else I had. Then I hid the Holy Family from our nativity set, and they marched around the house singing “We Three Kings” and looking for the Christ Child. {We still do this, minus the crowns, and I usually have a few small gifts hidden with the Holy Family.}
You can also spend some time looking at maps of the Far East and considering where the kings traveled from. And look at maps showing where the Holy Family fled to Egypt…look up distance and how long it might have taken them to walk there. Most Bibles have maps to make it easy for you. There are traditional house blessings for the feast of the Epiphany where you mark the year above the door frame using chalk.
Lastly, consider googling images of “The Flight to Egypt” or “The Epiphany” and look at some great works of art that depict these scenes. I like “The Adoration of the Wise Men” by Tissot and “Flight into Egypt” by Rubens.
