I started out Lent with one purpose in mind, but wound up focusing on a whole other aspect that needed to be addressed. The Lord is working overtime!!
Lenten Success

Nigh over 40 days ago, a few of us discussed clever Lenten ideas, a topic prompted by my friend who had decided to send handwritten notes to loved ones during Lent.
I heard from a few of you who felt compelled to do the same, and also heard from other people doing unrelated, but equally inspiring acts of love.
If anyone wants to share about their Lent, please feel free! How do you feel now that your time in the desert is over?
As for me, I wouldn’t say this was my most gangbusters Lent ever, but it also wasn’t my worst. God certainly showed up, and that is the most important part of the equation.

I don’t know if I’ve ever had a Lent where I thought “wow, do I ever feel closer to God!” It’s more like “I think I feel closer to God…but I’m not convinced” This year, it’s an in-betweener “I do feel closer to God, most days”. We started doing a daily family rosary (usually just one decade) and I believe it was reflecting on the sorrowful mysteries that brought me closer to Christ. So, like you Rachel, God showed up in many ways and for this, I am most grateful.
My Lent started in Advent, when my husband’s job began its downward spiral. I tried my best to do well with Lent, but I will admit that I freaked out a few times and gave into despair. However, I did well with my Lenten husband gratitude journal. I’m so glad that Easter is finally here!
My Lent was so good that I miss it already! I have 2 kids who nap between 1-3 and I used that time for prayer, spiritual reading, the rosary, and writing in a journal about my faith. I know many of you already have a set time you spend alone with God, but besides bedtime prayers, I really didn’t on a daily basis. On Monday, I tried to go back to my old ways and watched a daytime soap and really missed my God time! Yesterday I spent the time praying again and felt so much better.
