Let's Get Glowing

In late December, I received a GlowCrazy review product in the mail. Being the smart mom that I am, I immediately wrapped it, labeled it “From Santa,” and packed it to take along on our trip to Florida.
This is not a fancy flashing giz-mo kind of toy. It is just ultra-cool. The box includes a small, flexible screen, a pen “light” and some stencils.
I have no idea how it works, but when you dim the lights, you can use the pen to “draw” with light on the screen. The drawings you make with the light stay and glow on the screen for several minutes before fading.
Kids can use the stencils to make images, draw pictures of their own, or write words on the screen.
The coolness factor does not wear off quickly. My kids played tic-tac-toe with each other from across the room, played with the pen and screen in a darkened van during our ride home, and hid inside closets midday to maximize the fun from this simple new toy.
I think this toy would be a lot of fun at slumber parties or on camping trips. It would be a thoughtful present for a child who is sick in bed or for any child’s birthday or other special event. It also, as I discovered, makes a nice “family” gift as it can be used and enjoyed by a crowd of kids at once. I was thinking it would be a nice gift to give a family when a new baby is born, as it occupies children of all ages for great lengths of time. Mom will thank you!
GlowCrazy strikes a nice balance between flashy new toys and games that require batteries and more traditional toys and games that might lack that “wow” factor that makes any children’s gift a hit. If you’re in the market for a child’s gift that wows a crowd, you can’t go wrong with GlowCrazy.
This is not a paid advertisement, but I received a free GlowCrazy product for review.
