Small Successes vol. 28

It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.

To participate, just write up a list of 3 of your recent Small Successes and post it on your blog along with the Small Successes button (go here to get the code). You are not required to use the button, but please do link back to the main post here. Then you can add your blog here using the Mr. Linky form (please link to the individual blog post, not the home page of your blog).

If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Small Successes in the comments.

To get us started, here are my Small Successes for this week:

1. I have not freaked out about my husband’s “flooring” project (as in sanding and refinishing our wood floors) taking much longer than expected.

2. I have managed to keep up with my online work, despite the fact that I am staying at my parents’ house this week and the distractions here are innumerable. I have so far accomplished this by staying up late talking with my parents and then staying up later still to get my work done. The way I figure it, this stuff is the equivalent of about 2 hours sleep.

3. There have been many recent unexpected changes at work that have made me sad and, occasionally, anxious about the future. But I have leaned hard on Mary and have maintained a sense of peace and confidence about what changes the future might hold.

Now it’s your turn—I love reading your small successes each week. Please share yours!

I can totally relate to the sanding. We have sanded and polished our entire house.
Basically I did it with the help of our oldest boys.
I certinly takes longer than you think.
Good luck
God Bless

Danielle, you will be in my prayers, especially with the changes in your work!  I so relate with that…I have often wondered, how will my own work change when our priest (who is also my dear friend) leaves?  That said, I think it’s changing sooner, as a result of my summer sabbatical, but all the same, I will pray for you.

And home projects taking longer than planned?  Sister, you have my TOTAL sympathy on that!  With us, in this old creaky farmhouse, it usually ends up that we start something and then it turns into about three other things…

Many blessings, Danielle.  May Mary lead you to the comfort of her Son’s arms.

Congratulations! Those are wonderful accomplishments!!!
I hope things go well for you at work…that’s a stressful thing to be sure…how wise you are to cling to Mary!

I can relate to this too from when I had my house dormered.  The worst part was at the end when the rugs were put in and we had to move every piece of furniture in the house to the non-rugged kitchen.  It was so stressful we fought like cats and dogs.

Change is difficult sometimes, but it also can also be a good thing.  I’ll keep the F&F “family” in my prayers.  (No I’m not a supporter of you know who. Just wanted to throw that out there. Whenever I use the word change I have to be careful now!)
Now for my “Small Successes”
1-Despite raging hormones and emotions all over the place because of a medicine change, I have lived through this week.  : ) Hormones always make things seem worse than they are, don’t they?
2- I have managed to sleep through the night one night this week. (See above for explanation)
4-I have allowed my husband to have his angry rant this week without biting his head off.  He wasn’t angry with me, he was angry and frustrated with himself.  That was a BIG accomplishment. For me to listen to him being angry like that is something I am not very comfortable with.  It’s all good, he feels better now. : )

I just want to congratulate all you ladies for your small successes!

I am facing a week of upheaval in my schedule in next 2 weeks so I can relate to all three in your list! Thanks for hosting this every week! God bless.

change is always challenging but it can bring about so many new and exciting things. I hope this is the case for you Danielle. Awesome posts ladies. You inspire me!

Oops, sorry for posting my link twice.  I accidently linked to last week’s first.
Thank you Danielle for continuing this weekly post.  I have really started looking forward to it every week.  It helps me put my week into perspective.

My first post - but definitely not my first time checking out (and applauding) everyone’s Small Successes for the week!!  Great job, all. smile
