Little Things Mean A Lot

It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.
To participate, just write up a list of 3 of your recent Small Successes and post it on your blog along with the Small Successes button (go here to get the code). You are not required to use the button, but please do link back to the main post here. Then you can add your blog here using the Mr. Linky form (please link to the individual blog post, not the home page of your blog).
If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Small Successes in the comments.
To get us started, here are my Small Successes for this week:
1. I made a cute cake! I’ve made many birthday cakes over the years, but this one felt like a real accomplishment since Kateri’s birthday cake last year was such an abysmal failure. Last year, I had only gray and pink food coloring and attempted to make a frosting rooster. The result was one creepy chicken. No photos were taken.
2. Last week, when someone I don’t know very well said something I found personally offensive, I managed to “sit on” my response until the urge to rip her lips off dissipated. Now I’ve almost forgotten the entire thing. Almost.
3. I have lovingly embraced mud season which is beginning in earnest. I sweep the floors, I mop the floors, and despite my very best “Take your shoes off before you come clomping through here, you crazy people!” I watch the floors get tracked with mud time and time again. I consider it a small price to pay for the increased time spent playing outdoors these days.
Okay, now you go. I can’t wait to read what small things you have succeeded at this week!
