Little Things Mean a Lot

Small Successes vol. 18

It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.

To participate, just write up a list of 3 of your recent Small Successes and post it on your blog along with the Small Successes button (go here to get the code). You are not required to use the button, but please do link back to the main post here. Then you can add your blog here using the Mr. Linky form (please link to the individual blog post, not the home page of your blog).

If you don’t have a blog, please share your Small Successes in the comments.

To get us started, here are my small successes for this week:

1. The toy boxes. They have been condensed. And why no, my dear children, this has nothing to do with those stuffed black trash bags I hauled out to the shed yesterday. Nothing at all.

2. I started getting lax with my regular exercise routine a couple of weeks ago, but this week I’m back in the saddle—pumping iron and loving my Gazelle.

3. I finally believe that the heating season is over. I cleaned the wood stove and the bricks around it. I felt like Mike Rowe. It’s a very dirty job, but now it’s done till the fall. Wheee!

Now it’s your turn. I love reading everyone’s entries—please share all the small ways you’ve succeeded this week.

Gotta love how the kids always seem to notice when the toys that don’t get played with get removed!

We’ve cleaned our woodstove too, and though the weather is SUPPOSED to stay warm, I have some doubts this year.  Never mind that it’s almost June.  That said, don’t they look so lovely when they’re all cleaned and quietly perching in the corner?  Ours turns into a bit of a table in the hot weather…not a good habit to break in the fall!

My kids are grown but I remember cleaning out the toy boxes. What a job! Often what we would do was to hide some of the toys in the attic (because there were just too many!) and pull them out months later on a rainy day and they were like new toys for the boys! Thanks for hosting Small Successes.

I posted mine on my blog - I can’t find Mr. Linky….I guess I’m a little backwards today LOL!

GREAT list Danielle!!! Good for you. Man, I want a Gazelle…..

yes, Mr. Linky is messed up today :(

We are in serious need to *clean out*our toys too. More lilke *toss out* wink Good for you on the exercise! It’s hard to jump back into it when you’ve been out of the routine. I know I’m having a hard time with this myself.

I posted mine on my blog too; hopefully Mr. Linky will be back up later.

This is my first time participating, though I have wanted to for months!  Here is the link to my post:  http://showerofroses.blogspot.com/2009/05/small-successes-vol-18.html
