Liturgies and Laundry

We'd love your take on both of our topics for today's Faith & Family Live Cast!

Download Podcast

On this week’s episode of the Faith & Family Live! Cast, (click here to listen or click on the player above), Danielle, Rebecca and I share a conversation about the recent sacraments celebrated by our families.  Following Rebecca’s son Joseph’s First Communion and my son Eric’s Confirmation, we discuss the goal of marking these special occasions without becoming distracted from the focus of the liturgy.  We’d love to hear about your special sacramental moments:  How do you go about marking these special occasions in a way that’s meaningful?  What kinds of things make these days more special—what kinds of things might distract kids from the sacrament on the special day (parties, presents, etc.)? How can we go about balancing these factors?

Next up, Danielle shares this week’s Faith & Family Feature Product, Tears of God: Persevering in the Face of Great Sorrow or Catastrophe by Fr. Benedict Groeschel.  Danielle calls this “a great resource for a Catholic approach to grieving, even for people not currently suffering tragedy in their lives”.

In our final segment, we take on listener Debbie’s great laundry query:

“Tell me how you do laundry! I have 4 kids and I am in awe of women who work or women with more children who seem to stay on top of all their housework. I feel like I could keep up with laundry or I could raise my kids. I definitely can’t do both. Does your husband help? Do you hire help? I can’t keep up and it’s making me crazy.”

Tune in to hear how it’s done around our homes and share your sanity saving suggestions in the comments below!

Please join us in praying for the intentions of all of our Faith & Family Live! community members.  We’d love your comments on this week’s show, as well as topic suggestions or questions like Debbie’s to help us plan future episodes.  Please subscribe to the Faith & Family Live Cast and help us spread the word by sharing the show with your family and friends!
