Mary and the Boys

Today is the birthday of Mary the Mother of Jesus.
As I pondered the ways our household could honor the Queen of Heaven on her special day, most of my ideas involved crowns and flowers. I thought how nice it would be to make a crown of flowers for our backyard Marian statue, or how lovely it would be to collect a vase of flowers for our Marian statue in the front room.
The truth is beyond saying a Rosary (which my boys do very well), none of the ways I’m inclined to honor Mary seem like a natural fit in this household of boys. Something about Mary evokes images of calm beauty, a gentle breeze blowing through fields of flowers, young girls gathering these flowers to fashion into beautiful crowns. And sadly, none of these images jive with my Real Life.
I would imagine that even if there were one or two girls in the home, a mother could have an easier time getting these kinds of activities going. But around here I can guarantee that unless I figure out how to include weapons in the mix, the boys will not be overly-eager to work on floral arrangements or crowns.
Do you have any suggestions for good ways to honor Mary in a house filled with Warriors? What ways can these Knights of mine honor their Queen?
