This week’s episode of the Faith & Family Live Cast (click here to listen or click on the player above) is truly a family affair, with Rachel (and her son Henry) and Arwen (with little Blaise) and I discussing our Mother’s Day celebrations. We share some thoughts on Danielle’s recent blog post entitled Mother’s Day Downer and the resultant conversation in the comments.
How do you handle special celebrations like Mother’s Day in your home? What do you wish you knew 10 to 20 years ago that you’ve had to learn the hard way about such events?
Our Faith & Family Feature Product this week is Ann Ball’s wonderful book entitled Catholic Traditions In The Home And Classrooms: 365 Days To Celebrate A Catholic Year, a terrific resource that combines information from the Church’s liturgical calendar with faith oriented recipes, craft ideas and gardening tips.
We close out our conversation with a discussion of creative outlets for moms and share some of our favorite websites for exploring our hobbies online. Arwen recommends Epicurious.com for recipes and The Pioneer Woman for everything from crafts to homeschooling ideas. I love AnnBall.com and Teaching Catholic Kids for finding faith related craft ideas to share with our families. What is your favorite creative outlet and does pursuing that hobby make you a more satisfied wife and mother?
Please join us in praying for the intentions of all of our Faith & Family Live! community members. We’d love your comments on this week’s show, as well as topic suggestions or questions to help us plan future episodes. Please subscribe to the Faith & Family Live Cast and help us spread the word by sharing the show with your family and friends!
