Novena for the Feast of Pentecost - Day 1

The Novena for the Feast of Pentecost

Today, begins the Novena for the Feast of Pentecost. This is the very first novena of the Church. A wonderful time to ask God for guidance for yourself, your family, job decision, health choices, city, country and the Catholic Church.

Although the prayer may take you five minutes to pray - its a wonderful way to prepare yourself for the full gifts of the Holy Spirit to blossom in your life and loved ones.

The prayers for Day One can be found here.... you can pray it and do a little evangelism by sending it as a card to a friend.

So far I only have the first three days done… so guess what I will be doing tomorrow?

Today has been a real push - I am working on my new book which will be about Catholics Returning Home.. I thought I had the cover finished but it didn’t make it through the editorial process. Now I don’t like the name.. exactly.. so we are just back on square one. Perhaps I can get some feedback from you?

Here is the situation. The main title of the book is “101 Inspirational Stories of…” which is how my series run. I did have “Returning Home” but as I got to thinking about it…. (one should not do a lot of this as one gets into knots) I did not know if that title would be a turn off - for someone who was only thinking about returning to the Church.

For instance - can you imagine a mom handing this book to her college age child and saying, “Oh honey, I think you might find this interesting.” And child picks up book, reads cover, “RETURNING HOME” and says, “Not.”

I can see this scenario playing out with any parent and child even if the child is 50!

But maybe I am wrong. The title has to be short… because the first part “101 Inspirational Stories” is already long…. so things like ... Returning Home, Coming Home, etc… fit the size count but . . . .

My sister Barb first came up with RETURNING HOME, REMARKABLE JOURNEY’S OF FAITH”  and maybe that is the best. It still has Returning Home in it and is longer - but what can you do?

I welcome any suggestions!
