Pages, Proofs ... and Chocolate

Working hard to bring you Faith & Family magazine

It is “closing week” at Faith & Family. We are finishing up the last bits of the November/December issue before we ship it off to the printer. Danielle Bean traveled from New Hampshire and associate editor, Lynn Wehner, came into the office to help with all the last minute details.

Here we are hard at work (don’t we look cute?), up to our elbows in story ideas, page layouts, proofs ... and chocolate snacks.

It would be a crime if I failed to mention my new found chocolate indulgence: Cocoa Roast Almonds from Emerald.

They found my way into my grocery cart (and my tummy) compliments of a big “on sale” sticker; otherwise, I would never have noticed them.  But what a find! Whole almonds dusted with dark chocolate.  Yum.  Don’t those health experts say that dark chocolate and almonds are good for us??? If this is healthy, sign me up.

But back to the magazine ...

Today went by quickly, but what a good day! As I sat back in the meeting and listened to these two talented women, I thought how blessed I am to be part of this team. I am excited about the work that we do: providing valuable resources for Catholic moms. (By the way, the November/December issue is gorgeous — thanks to our lead designer, Lynne Hardt. The cover will stop you in your tracks.)

Pray for us as we put the final touches on the print magazine. I can’t wait for you to see it.

Oh man, you guys do look cute! And I love Lynn’s purple scarf. And… um… is that another candy dish on the table too?  Candy obsessed minds want to know.

Yes, the other candy on the table is Lindt chocolates. Also on sale. Score!

Ummmm you all look gorgeous and you don’t have enough chocolate on the table. Oh wait there isn’t ever enough chocolate….lol

Can’t wait for the new Magazine issue!!

When will the Nov/Dec. issue be out? I never received the Sep/Oct one, and want to make sure I keep a look-out for the new one.

The November/December 2009 issue will be arriving in your mailbox in mid-December. This issue is filled with spiritual inspiration for the Christmas season, a Christmas gift guide, liturgical celebrations, and creative ideas for your home and family during the upcoming holiday season, all the way through the Epiphany!

I too never received my Sept. October issue.  Please advise as to what I should do to receive it.

Subscribers will be getting a letter in the mail explaining the extension. It should be in homes soon.

Hi Robyn! Was there a September/October issue? Or is this the transition time from bi-monthly to quarterly?

Thank you for all you do!

Oh shoot! I see that a letter is coming to explain about the missing Sept/Oct issue! Sorry for the repeat question! *goofy grin*

I always love the cover of Faith & Family magazine.  Thank you so much for all the work you put into it.  I love getting a real magazine that I can hold in my hands, and enjoy the text and images.  Beautiful!

Good to “see” you again Danielle.  Can’t wait for the next issue of F&F.  Thank you for all your work.

Actually, I have not received the last three issues in a timely fashion, for instance, July/August arrived at the end of August….and although I love this magazine and allowed for the subscription even though money is tight for us now…I will not renew…do not feel we are getting our money’s worth…as of now our September/October issue is still undelivered…we are rereading the last three years’ worth on our shelves.
