Psalms Beyond the 23rd

What I like best about praying the Divine Office is that is has made me familiar with many of the psalms. The Church says that the psalms give expression to every state of the human heart, And I’ve certainly found that to be true. Here are a few of my favorites:
“As they go through the bitter valley, they make it a place of springs (Ps.84) a lovelier version of “when life give you lemons ...” it reminds me try to ease the sufferings of others and find meaning in my own.
“Oh God, You are my God, for you I long, for you my soul is thirsting, my body pines for you like a dry weary land without water” (Ps.63) this one comes to me whenever I’m feeling stressed.
“You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the plague that .prowls in the darkness, nor the scourge that lays waste at noon…” actually, all of Psalm 91, known as the Soldier’s Psalm, is marvellous for helping me face life’s battles large and small. I also pray it for my son who is in Afghanistan.
“The heavens proclaim the glory of God and the firmament shows for the work of his hand. Day unto day takes up the story, Night unto night makes known the message ...” the perfect psalm when I’m admiring a sunset or a starry sky.
Okay, your turn—share a favorite psalm verse.
