Rock On, Mom!

Small Successes vol. 31

It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.

To participate, just write up a list of 3 of your recent Small Successes and post it on your blog along with the Small Successes button (go here to get the code). You are not required to use the button, but please do link back to the main post here. Then you can add your blog here using the Mr. Linky form (please link to the individual blog post, not the home page of your blog).

If you don’t have a blog, you can share your Small Successes in the comments.

To get us started, here are my Small Successes for this week:

1. I have not yet written up that marriage post I keep promising you ... Oh wait, that’s a small failure. How to re-word? I have been marinating a marriage post in my brain, the fruits of which I will share with you ... very soon.

2. Summer has finally arrived and I have been cheerfully taking my kids to the lake pretty much every day, even though that means giving up some precious evening time and inviting a beach’s worth of sand into the van, Danny’s diaper, and the bottom of my washing machine.

3. After being away for a couple days at the end of last week, I managed to slide back into my homelife without too much trauma. In fact, being away for a bit made me even more appreciative of the privilege of being here. Yes, I do live a busy life, but it is a blessed one too.

Wow! Impressed with your “re-wording” abilities!

1. I prepped for the big co-op meeting next week.

2. I cleaned my desk so dear hubby can find things if he ends up being the teacher this year. (and found a missing check!)

3. I passed the CLEP test for Psych 101 (yeah) so I can skip one class (of course I filed the paper too well and can’t find it!)

Good for you taking them swimming- do wish I had a close free option for our kids.

1. I cut down the huge, hideous weeds behind the garage.
2. I cleaned the outside of the cupboards with Murphys Oil Soap.
3. I cleared the clutter off of a portion of the computer desk.

Happy to know of this feature at Faith and Family. However as computers seem to the bane to my existence I am having trouble getting the button to show up on my Web site. Says I’m using “illegal characters.” Yeah, that’s me - trying to pull a fast one on Blogger! Oh well. Will post my successes later this evening with or without button. Taking a son to get a CT scan right now - prayers please!

1- Successfully refrained from reminding Danielle about her marriage article this week.  wink
2- Managed to make half of my husband’s lunch last night.  (Been having some grieving issues going on this week.)
3- Woke up in a much better mood this morning.  That is due to prayer.

I managed to make it to the alterations place, the bank, the dry cleaners, the pet store and the grocery store (that’s 5!) in the Texas heat with my little 17-month-old boy in tow… and we had a wonderful time together.  We started school this week so we are missing our big sisters but it was lovely to have some one-on-one (blessedly tantrum-free) time with him.

Aren’t you surprised there are no headstones with these words? Here lies Mom - Killed by errands. I applaud your small successes, McMom.

GREAT LIST and great successes Danielle. Love your humor and rewording smile
