Sock-foot or Barefoot?

In summer, I eschew socks.
Occasionally my exercise footwear requires socks, but when the activity ends I immediately sit and rip them off, and my feet and I are both relieved and happy for the resultant breath of fresh air. Other than when exercising, I am completely sock-free during the warmer months.
I mentioned to my husband that I’ve gone at least a week at a time without wearing socks. He looked at me in horror, as if I’d revealed a penchant for using colanders as headwear, or for wearing swimsuits to black-tie affairs.
In the foot-covering department, Bryan and I are opposites. I assume that he takes off his socks to shower, but other than that he wears them constantly. Even when it’s 90 degrees outside, the man loves his socks.
When we got married and I discovered he sleeps with socks on, I was shocked. Even for a quick nap, I’m unable to doze unless barefoot. How could my husband do it with his feet *imprisoned* like that?
Yet he does, and I’ve since discovered that he is not alone.
I would guess we are both extreme cases, since I wear socks and he removes them only when absolutely necessary. But what about the rest of you? Where do you fall on the sock-preference continuum?
In other words: are you a sock hater or a sock lover, or somewhere in between?
