Spring Cleaning and Spiritual Simplification

Cleaning inside and out on this week's podcast

Download Podcast

On this week’s episode of the podcast (click here to listen or click on the player above) I’m joined by Elizabeth Foss and Sarah Reinhard to take on two great topics.  We hear from listener Lauren who shares a question about spring cleaning and deep cleaning when you have little ones at home.  Do you have any practical tips or favorite product suggestions to share?

Our Faith & Family Feature Product for this week is the wonderful Catholic.net Store.  This is an online shopping center offering an array of books, gifts, devotionals and resources for evangelization and catechesis. With more than 20,000 items to choose from, the Catholic.net Store has special appeal to shoppers who prefer a single online store for all their Catholic shopping needs.  But the vast inventory is just one of many attractions sure to draw masses of Catholics to the Catholic.net Store. Buyers can also rest assured that all merchandise has been hand-selected for both topnotch quality and unwavering faithfulness to the authentic teachings of the Catholic Church. If you like this podcast, support us by shopping through the Catholic.net store for all your Lenten and First Communion needs. You receive the same low price, but a percentage goes to support Circle Media.

In our final segment, we look at opportunities to simply our lives during this Lenten season.  We mention three books you may want to investigate on this topic:

A Mother’s Rule of Life: How to Bring Order to Your Home and Peace to Your Soul
Simplicity Parenting: Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and More Secure Kids
Simplifying Your Domestic Church

How can we simplify our prayer and family lives during this Lenten season?

We LOVE sharing your feedback!  You can call and send us a message on our new listener feedback line at 1-413- FAITH-55 (or 1-413-324-8455).  Leave us a comment, a question, a suggestion, or your own thoughts about topics we’ve discussed in our podcasts, or simply leave a comment here at the blog.  We’d love to hear from you!

Great show, ladies!  “I need more ritual in my life” and living according to the rhythm of the church are great ideas.  Love the Catholic Calendar on iTunes.  Also love the extended list of references on living simplicity on Elizabeth’s website.  I ordered Simplicity Parenting from my library…thanks for the heads-up.  As a mom of 7, I completely understand these struggles.  I take a deep breath and say a prayer to the Holy Spirit quite often each day.
