Spring Fever

My favorite time of the year

I love Spring. Not the Winter thaw muddy mess, but the late May early June loveliness. For me, this is the perfect time.

I love eating dinner outside. I can smell the neighbors grilling burgers, which makes me turn on my grill because ... what a good idea!

I love that it is light out in the early morning and I love that it is light out until 9 p.m.

I love getting outdoors! Springtime is when we start playing rec league softball. I play in the outfield and I love the green grass, the warm sun on my face and even the couple of beers we share after the game.

I love the lush green and all the blooming flowers (I am lucky to say that I don’t suffer from allergies and can enjoy the blooms).

Can I brag for a second and tell you that all the flowers in this bouquet are from my yard? (Extra points if you can you identify all the flowers in the vase.)

Do you love Spring? What do you love about it?

I love the rare occasion when we actually have moderate weather, a nice happy medium between hot/humid and cold.  70s is good.

The pic is kind small, but I see tulips, lilacs, iris, and ... I can’t tell.  :>)  I’m with Claire - I’d love a string of days in the 70s.

Peonies, tulips, irises and lilacs!  And perhaps some mountain laurel in the bottom of the photo?

I love taking road trips with friends for a long weekend ... to places like Boston, say smile

Lilac, mountain laurel *(under the lilacs), peonies (pink and white), iris,... I’m not seeing any tulips. Am I wrong?

Maryan, I was thinking the pink ones were tulips, but perhaps you are correct and they are peonies, too.  Is Robyn going to tell us?

LOL!  Confession:  I am one of Robyn’s “gardeners,” (read “sister”) since her bestfriend and I planted half of those flowers with her three or four years ago! The pink peonies definitely confuse because they are from an immature plant.  The garden at Robyn’s used to boast many *beautiful* tulips… but no more.  Sniff.  The Mountain Laurel has been at her house forever.  My first pair of earrings were its blossoms. LOL!

You play softball? Thats awesome! I play too. Usually third base or shortstop.
