All of these stories are wonderful. I am a catholic woman and hope to one day have a child. I have been struggling a very long time. Please pray for me.
St. Gerard, Pray for Us

As many of you know, I’m hard at work on my next book, a weekly devotional offering reflections and activities based upon the lives of the saints. No saint book for moms would be complete without a chapter on St. Gerard Majella, patron saint of expectant mothers.
A few weeks ago, a friend asked me if I would be writing about St. Gerard. I responded affirmatively, but admitted that I was lacking a bit of inspiration and was therefore having a bit of trouble getting started writing about the beloved Redemptorist lay brother.
Today, the time finally arrived to reflect on his life and I’ve spent the day reading about him, learning more about traditions related to him, and hearing stories from friends who have a personal devotion to this special saint. There seem to be so many accounts of direct intercession in families, so many men named Gerard or who confirmed with his patronage, so many miracle babies born as a result of prayers through him.
I thought it would be wonderful to come to this group and invite you to share here. Do you have a devotion to St. Gerard Majella? Have you worn his medal, prayed a novena through his intercession, or known someone comforted through a difficult pregnancy by his saintly companionship? I’d love to collect some additional stories here and help spread the word about this special intercessor for Catholic Moms.
