Support and Sleep

I’m so very humbled that on today’s episode of the Faith & Family Live Cast (click here to listen or click on the player above) Arwen, Danielle and I discuss my newly released book The Handbook for Catholic Moms: Nurturing Your Heart, Mind, Body and Soul. This book has been a labor of love and I’m hoping that it will help many moms and their families, so it was fun to spend time discussing it with two of my best mom friends! Arwen and Danielle offer their thoughts and reviews on the book, while I blush… and Danielle will have news for us soon on your chance to win a copy of the book. For more information on my book, visit CatholicMom.com.
In the first segment of the topic, we look at my chapter entitled “You’re Never Alone” to discuss how we as moms can surround ourselves with support, and how we can play that role for other special women in our lives. Our wonderful community here at Faith & Family provides such a great online support system, but what are some of the ways you support yourself and your friends in your own community?
Next we transition to one of those age-old mom dilemmas: sleep! We all know that our stress levels rise when sleep time is short, but how can we cope with bouts of sleep deprivation? Whether it’s a mom of a newborn whose constantly waking or a more “mature” mom who may be waking due to physical or anxiety related reasons, what can we do to avoid unnecessary sleepless nights?
