Support Good Habits

I’ve seen some creative uses of Catholic new media lately, but few intrigued me as much as the website SupportGoodHabits.org. The website and it’s companion Twitter feed are the creative efforts of Anna and Amanda, two young ladies who are sharing their journey towards religious vocations.
Both are currently working full time and involved in a variety of service efforts and living at the Kolbe House on the grounds of St. Adalbert Church in Berea, Ohio. Both have a great desire to enter formation with the Franciscan Sisters TOR of Penance of the Sorrowful Mother. They share the following information about their need for support:
“Anna and Amanda are hoping to enter the TOR Sisters in August 2011. They are both currently in the midst of the application process. Before they can enter, the application process must be completed, and both Anna and Amanda must pay off the debt they each have (school loans and other debt, as well as pay application expenses). Both of them have more than they could pay off by themselves in a year, so they know they must rely on the prayers and generosity of others to help them move to this next step. It is overwhelming at times, yet both of them have great trust and faith that if it is indeed the Lord’s will and timing for them to enter with the sisters in 2011, in His providence, He will continue to provide.”
I know you’re being asked to support many worthy organizations at this time of the year, but I hope you’ll consider joining me in making a small donation to support Anna and Amanda. If we all help, our reward will be two future Sisters who have a great desire to serve our Church. Isn’t that worth giving up a fancy cup of coffee or two this week?
I haven’t met these ladies personally, but they have my prayers as they actively discern their vocations. I think they are the types of go getters, but more importantly the types of spiritual stars, we need.
