This week on the podcast (click here to listen or click on the player above), Danielle chats with Elizabeth and me about the topic of being a cancer survivor. Elizabeth today commemorates the 20th anniversary of her diagnosis with a stirring reflection on the experience and how it impacted her spiritually. Our conversation relates to dealing with the stress of illness, how it impacts upon your family, and spiritual resources to see you through trying times.
Our Faith & Family Feature Product for this week is Pius Media. Just like Netflix, but for Catholics. Pius Media is the source for movies depicting the lives of the saints, children’s movies, educational tools for Religious Education teachers, conversion stories from the greatest apologists, Catholic-friendly Hollywood movies, and some great old television series. Start a Catholic movie night or check out the Vatican-compiled list of 45 great films. Pius Media’s logo includes a picture of the Blessed Mother and a promise: “Entertainment your Mother approves!” Log onto PiusMedia.com to browse their selection and sign up for a monthly plan.
In our final segment, we look at the joys and challenges of being a “mom blogger”. Pope Benedict XVI recently called upon Catholics to “give a soul” to the Internet and we Catholic mom bloggers are perfectly positioned to rise to this challenge. We discussed the following blogs, which uplift and inspire us:
Faith Filled Mom
Holy Experience
Evlogia
Conversion Diary
Karen Edmisten
Just Another Day of Catholic Pondering
Registration is now open for our Faith & Family Mom’s Day Away event on October 30. Click here for information and registration details.
