The 12th Day of Christmas

a poem and image for all 12 days

The New Year’s Gift
Robert Herrick

Let others look for pearl and gold
Tissues, or tabbies manifold:
Only one lock of that sweet hay
Whereon the blessed Baby lay,
Or one poor swaddling clout, shall be
The richest New Year’s gift to me.

thank you for the beautiful Twelve Days of Christmas ~ I enjoyed them so much and am looking forward to them later this year and the beginning of next year…Blessings, Patty

Thanks, Patty. There are actually two more posts in this series coming if you can believe it.

As for later this year…wow. I’ll have to start researching now to find 12 more poems! Although I was thinking of doing little-known verses of favorite carols.
