Time for a smile checkup!

On my “to do” list for today is an item I’ve moved around four times prior to successfully completing it: my semi-annual dental checkup. With the slightest excuse, I find a reason to reschedule this dreaded experience. Today, it’s time to pay the piper…
I have no logical reason to hate going to the dentist. My dentist, in fact, is such a nice person that I’d enjoy an evening out on the town with he and his wife. We always have great conversations (although my half of them happen with his hands in my mouth!) I have good oral health and hygiene and rarely have dental “issues”.
My only shortcoming is that I’m not a regular flosser - I receive a stern talk on this from the hygienist at every visit. I do my best to floss regularly for a month or two, and then fall off the wagon until the next appointment. I don’t know what it is about me and flossing - so if you have a tip on making it work for you, let me know!
As moms, we have responsibility for so many sets of teeth along with our own. I would guess that most of us are much more vigilant about getting our children in for their appointments than we are about going for our own checkups. So today, if you’re overdue for a trip to the dentist, why not pick up the phone and schedule that appointment?
As for me, I’ll book my next one before I leave the dentist’s office today and hereby vow to floss more regularly in the future, or at least for the next month or two…
