Coffee Talk Gets a Makeover

seek support and share ideas -- even more!

We at Faith and Family value our readers’ input as a source of information and encouragement so much that we have decided to expand your opportunities for sharing it.

While we will still host an “open forum” Coffee Talk once a week on Tuesdays where you can make any kind of comment or ask any kind of question, we will be offering more Coffee Talks on the other days with more focused discussions.

Monday: Parenting Terrible toddlers? Trying teens? This the spot to share your questions and struggles about all things related to parenthood.

Tuesday: Open Forum Anything goes. Ask anything, say anything. Just be nice.

Wednesday: Natural Family Planning This weekly thread will be a place where you can share your struggles, triumphs, resources, concerns, and questions about all things related to Natural Family Planning.

Thursday: Marriage Struggling in your marriage? Have some relationship advice to share? Have a man/woman question? This is the place to do it.

Friday: Education Whether your children attend school or are homeschooled, this is the spot to ask questions about curricula, religious education, parent-teacher relationships, or academic concerns of any kind.

Saturday/Sunday: Homemaking Share your favorite meal planning strategies, craft ideas, or ask questions about cleaning products, laundry techniques, etc.

It is my hope that think these smaller Coffee Talks will be a great regular resource for our readers here.

Sometimes questions get lost in the shuffle of the Tuesday open thread. And sometimes, it is nice to have a place where you can share or ask questions anonymously—especially about sensitive topics—and know that you are “among friends” here at Faith and Family.

These smaller Coffee Talks will post first thing in the morning on their designated days. They will remain open to comments even after the day is done, but conversations are likely to peter out as the post moves from the front page.

I’ll start them tomorrow with a special NFP-themed Coffee Talk. Hope to see you there!

awesome idea!

Great idea, Danielle!  I tend not to participate in the open Tuesday forum since I have a hard time keeping track of all the different questions and responses.  These smaller, focused discussions will work great for me.

I’d also like to suggest that you include an area somewhere on the site where readers can provide feedback, ideas for topics, questions, etc.  Even if it’s just an email address, it would be nice to know where to to send things.  Thanks for all the work you do to provide this community!

The selection of topics reminds me why I love this magazine/website and how it speaks to where I am in life.

This is a wonderful idea!  Thank you!

All are wonderful topics! Great job!

Thank you so much! What a wonderful idea! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this site and how much it has changed my life. It is so great to know there is a place you can go to have questions answered and receive such an amazing amount of support.

another great idea!
