We are one Family

A six minute award winning video - on food - that goes to waste - but doesn't.

This beautiful video was shared with me today - and I think its important to share with you.

Just watched the video, “Chicken A la Carte”.  We have so much, yet waste so much and take so many many things for granted.
“Dear Lord, please help us to be good stewards of all the good gifts you give us, especially the gift of food”

thanks for sharing this video.

there is enough for everyone if we are all willing to share.

What really got me, was that they were still THANKFUL for the food…food that would be garbage to us, they were thanking God for!  One child was reprimanded for digging in before praying…what a lesson for all of us!!!  THANK YOU for this video.  I will be sharing it with my children later on today.

what an inspiring video.  People actually thanking God for others leftover garbage.  We have so much and are so spoiled, and the sad part is we do not even know it until we see something like this video.

Come Holy Spirit and fill our hearts with love for those in need.

As a teen, I did a bit of volunteering for SOME (So Others May Eat) when I lived in the Wash., DC area.  The farm market where I worked in VA regularly donated produce that would not sell to SOME.  It was eye-opening to see the amount of perfectly edible food that people waste.  Like one poster said above, there is more than enough to feed everyone, if only we are willing to share.  Starvation is one of the main reasons used to justify population control.

“The bread you do not use is the bread of the hungry. The garment hanging in your wardrobe is the garment of the person who is naked. The shoes you do not wear are the shoes of the one who is barefoot. The money you keep locked away is the money of the poor. The acts of charity you do not perform are the injustices you commit.” ~ St. Basil the Great, 4th century

Thank you for sharing this video, Sr. Patricia. If we are not informed and provoked by messages such as this one, we will never know and never grow in love. Lord, help us to share what You have so generously given to us, to be good stewards of the material and temporal goods that come from You, through us, to others. And Lord, bless all those dear children! Amen!

I have a Chinese co-worker who is very unemotional, but when she watched this video, it moved her so much that she cried.

Thank you Sister for sharing this video…This is truly a sad reality, one which needs to be brought constantly to attention for the privileged and underprivileged to come together and share the harvest that Our Lord has provided abundantly to feed everyone….Chicken a la Carte by Ferdinand Dimadura is heartfelt and inspiring.

It was a beautiful video but hard to realize that those conditions exist today.  A good reminder of what it is we are called to do today.  I love your newsletter Sister Pat - keep up the good work and God Bless you.

Sister Pat my computer went down too so I know the feeling.  I was fortunate to buy one from daughter and other daughter in Florida cleaned it up and I am back running.  Love your emails.
God bless.

Sister Patricia:  Thank You very much for this video We as Americans have so much and I think we are truly the most wasteful also we waste so much good food instead of giving food that has already been consumed by others why don’t the restrauants just give these less fortunate people the food.MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF THOSE WHOM ARE LESS FORTUNATE AND MAY ALL OF US SEE THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST IN OTHERS.GOD BLESS YOU SISTER PATRICIA AND YOUR OTHERS SISTERS

Thank you Sr. Pat for sharing the Chicken ala King.  Very moving to see how wasteful some people are and how many hungry people we have in this rich country of ours.

Also interested in the college kids walk for Pro-life!

I’m in tears….

One day, one day and that day will come when people on this planet realise just what it is to waste and yet see others starve. We have constantly told our children not to waste, some listen not always though. We live in a “throw away society” and this is really sad. May God forgive us all and help us to SHARE more often. Thank you Sr. Patricia.

Thank you Sr Patricia, for this 6 minutes viewing of our brothers and sisters in the world who are not having a decent meal a day and yet on the other side, so much waste of food and money. Although we know it, how little care we give on our spending un-necessarily for ourselves! God has given enough resources on this earth for all His children; do we consider as my brother/sister every person on the globe? If yes, each of us will find a practical way to help them to gain their dignity and honour.

Hi Sr. Patricia,

I am in the area that video was taken… i have seen it happen each time.  Here, the contrast between hunger and unnecessary fullness is so striking even only within a radius of kilometer… Sad fact.  But know that the same people who live in poverty have deep faith hope and love to share.

How is Sr Pat ??????
