We Need Each Other

I realized that I never followed up on my post last week about meeting with some other ladies to discuss Mulieris Dignitatem.
So here’s the scoop: I got my homework done, and it was so totally worth it.
We met for about 2.5 hours, it wasn’t at all boring, and the time went by very quickly. At the end of it, I came to the following conclusions:
- It’s important to take time to think about the value and the dignity of our womanly and motherly vocations. It’s just way too easy to forget that in the midst of dishes and the diapers.
- It’s important to spend time with like-minded women who can help you sift through the teachings of the Church and confirm a Christ-centered way of life. The world bombards us with its Godless messages—we need to make real efforts to keep Christ at the forefront of our minds and families.
- We women need each other. Even introverted moms—maybe especially introverted moms—need support in Catholic living. Because it’s not all hearts and roses and it’s easy to forget the big picture ... without your sisters there to remind you of it.
My group is using study guides from Together! and I think they are very well done, but reader Bethany recommends materials from Endow as well.
So what are you waiting for? However small it might be, get your group together!
Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. – Matthew 18:20
