When "Friends" Become Friends

Yesterday, I felt as though the wall of my Facebook page was coming to life! I had the great pleasure of attending the Catholic Marketing Network Show and the Catholic Writer’s Conference here in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Being on the show floor is a little bit like going to a Catholic Disneyland, but the best part of being present here is the opportunity to meet so many of my online friends in person.
The names are really too numerous to mention here, but I will say that one of the amazing blessings of the day was serving on three panels alongside some of my favorite bloggers and authors. This photo shows my friends Mark Shea, Donna-Marie Cooper O’Boyle and Karina Fabian prior to our blogging panel. I teased Mark that I was just going to say, “Ditto” to each of his comments, since I’m such a fan of his writing.
Today, the show continues. At the end of the day, I will hop into a rental car with friends from SQPN.com to drive to Boston. Tomorrow, my “fantasy week” will continue with an appearance on Catholic TV’s “This is the Day” at 10 am ET. And then the real excitement begins when Danielle, Rachel, Sarah Reinhard and many of our other friends will all be together for the Catholic New Media Celebration. Can you imagine the slumber party we could have tomorrow night?!
Having opportunities to gather with our online friends in such a faith-filled environment simply underscores again for me how truly blessed I am to have such wonderful friends who share what matters most in my life. We may not be able to attend Mass together every Sunday, but so many of you feel like my fellow parishioners in this online Body of Christ we have created. And for that, I am grateful!
