Will You Go Western?

What do you think of Glamour's '14 Most Wearable Fall Fashions'?

Happy Fall, ladies! I could barely believe it when I stepped out my front door this morning and was actually cold! Here in the South! In September! But let’s not talk about it lest I discover that it’s just too good to be true…

Let’s talk about fashion instead! More specifically, let’s talk about the Fall 2010 fashion trends! And no, not because I imagine many (any?) of us are planning on running out to the department stores to change out our wardrobes but because it’s just kinda fun ... at least for those of us who are interested in such things.

So, without further ado, and with the help of this Glamour magazine guide, let’s take a peek at some of the current looks…

Western-Inspired Duds - Well, cutie pie (and Faith and Family Live contributor) Sarah Reinhard will be happy ‘cause she can pull off such things. If you’re one of the few who, like Sarah, looks amazing in a pair of cowgirl boots I say go for it! Bandanas on the other hand ...

Thigh-High Socks - You know, I have a special place in my heart for thigh-high socks. I don’t know that I’d wear them out of the house, though. I like them for curling up in front of a cozy fire but to pair with a mini skirt? Not so much.

Cowl-Neck Sweaters - Cute!

Schoolgirl Styles - Ick. I’m sorry, but schoolgirl styles look cute on schoolgirls. Let’s just leave it at that.

Chunky Colorful Scarves - Yes! I love it! What better way to inexpensively add a touch of personal flair to your outfit?

Asymmetrical-Cut Coats - I have a problem with all things asymmetrical. They kind of make me twitch. But that’s just me. What do you think?

Soothing Gray—and lots of it - Soothing gray? I like it. Lots of it? Eh. Sounds kind of gloomy to me.

Long-Sleeve Layering Tees - Sure! Why not?

Maxiskirts and Platform Boots - Why must the past always come back to haunt us?

Geometric Patterns - I feel the same way about geometric patterns that I do about asymmetrical patterns. But again, that’s just a weird personal thing with me.

Sheer and Sequin-y - Done tastefully, I don’t mind sheer. Sequins are a bit more iffy, don’t you think?

Hip All-Weather Boots - I heart boots. This style trend puts a smile on my face.

Red Velvet - I wore red velvet to my 6th grade dance. I shudder to remember. Again I ask you: why must the past always come back to haunt us?

Double-Breasted Jackets - Absolutely. Especially if the double-breasted jacket in question looks all feminine and vintage-y like the one Glamour used to illustrate this trend!

So, those are my quick thoughts on the fashion trends of 2010. How do you feel about these looks?
