Back when my oldest kids were young, my mom picked up a Donut Man video at a second hand shop and brought it to the house for a surprise.
The kids were smitten. It didn’t take long before we all had every one of the songs memorized.
The music was engaging, the kids were cute, and the little donut puppet was charming. I wondered about this “Donut Man” and why I hadn’t heard of him before.
It turns out that Rob Evans, the man with the hat, glasses, and coveralls, was an Evangelical at the beginning of his career but that he and his family converted to Catholicism just a few years ago. He has since shared his conversion story on EWTN and many radio programs.
I did a little YouTubing in search of a sample to introduce newbies to the Donut Man’s sweet simple approach to teaching kids the basics of their faith. I found many clips, but here’s one of my favorites:
This video happens to be part of the one my oldest kids watched as preschoolers. When I played it earlier today, my current preschoolers were just as smitten.
