Praying for Veterans

I highly recommend reading the essay that Rebecca linked to in honor of Veterans’ Day. I found it inspiring and thought-provoking.
In the meantime, in honor of this day, I thought it would be nice to publicly acknowledge the veterans in our lives, both living and dead. What better way to honor veterans than by praying for them?
In the comments section of this post, please list any loved ones who’ve served in the armed forces. If you have loved ones in active duty, feel free to share their names as well. It’ll be our special Faith & Family Veterans’ Day Prayer List.

My mother handed on to me a penchant for enjoying singing all the verses of songs. (You should hear us at Christmastime!)
When I was a child and we sang patriotic songs in school, it disappointed me when we’d stop after the first verse.
And with good reason, because those continuing verses are often the best part of the song!

Worth Fighting For

Today we observe the anniversary of September 11, 2001, the day of the biggest terrorist attack on US soil. It’s a good day to remember and to pray for all those who were killed or wounded because of those attacks, and for those who lost loved ones and whose lives were changed for the worse because of that day.
