Two for One

challenges/blessings

I like to nap with a baby. I lie on my side, snuggle the baby on my arm, and wake up well rested hours later.

Twins complicate this.

Last week my big kids were at my parents’ house, and I was determined to nap with the twins. But the couple times I tried it, I ended up on my back in the bed with a baby on each arm, afraid to move either of them but unable to sleep well myself.

The situation felt... READ MORE

Stacking Tasks

What's your routine?

With two little ones who are not yet three months old, it’s pretty much all baby, all the time around here. I keep trying to think of other things to blog about but I keep coming back to this: TWO babies. My mind is infant-fuzzy right now.

One of the things I find really hard about the early months is the task of working out a routine. I don’t use a schedule - I hate feeling like the clock is bossing... READ MORE

Tiny New Catholics

We celebrate our babies' baptism

When Linus and Ambrose were four weeks old, we had them baptized.

For me, it was definitely the most joyous day of their lives so far - even better than the day we brought them both home from the NICU.

Ceremonies don’t usually make me weepy. I laughed with joy through my own wedding. Baptisms are the one exception to that.

Near the beginning of the rite when the celebrant says to the baby, “I claim... READ MORE

Babies Crazy May

The wildest blessed month of my life

When I woke this morning and realized it is June, I breathed a sigh of relief.

On May 1st, I got up and said to my husband, “This will probably be the month we have the babies!” I had no idea what a crazy month it would be.

The wild ride began on May 2nd, when I was 33 weeks exactly, with a visit to labor & delivery triage that gave us our first indication the twins might be coming sooner rather than... READ MORE

A Bouquet for Arwen and Her Babies

an opportunity to support the Mosher family

Oh, this is a lovely idea!

Some of the (many) folks who love Arwen and Bryan and all their adorable babies are putting together a spiritual bouquet for them, collecting prayers on their behalf.

I hope that lots and lots of us here at Faith & Family will click over to offer good wishes and prayers in support of the amazing Mosher family!

Twins!

A quick update on the Mosher babies

Hi everyone! My babies will be a week old at 12:30am tonight, and I haven’t gotten a chance to update here, but I thought you all might like to know what’s going on.

Linus and Ambrose were born at 34 weeks, 3 days gestation. They’ve been in the NICU since then. They are doing as well as can reasonably be expected for babies their age, but they will still be in the hospital a while, growing and learning to eat.

Our family is coping decently well with this stressful time, but we can use all the prayers you have to spare.

If you want a more detailed update (and more pictures!) please hop over to my personal blog, where I just posted this afternoon.

It's a Boy! And a Boy!

Congratulations to the Moshers!

I loved watching the #moshertwins hashtag on Twitter last night.

And I LOVED waking up this morning to find that Linus Michael and Ambrose John were born at 12:38 and 12:41 am today.

Babies are doing well and Mom is tweeting her joy. Congratulations to all the Moshers!

An Update on Arwen

Thanks to everyone who has been remembering Arwen and her unborn twin boys in prayer this week.

The good news is that those baby boys are still on the “inside” and doing very well. Arwen has been allowed to go home but is on strict bed rest. We won’t be hearing much from her here, but she is very good about updating her Twitter account, so you can get the latest news from her there.

While Arwen is focused on baby business, the lovely Daria Sockey of Coffee and Canticles fame has graciously agreed to do some blogging here with us.

God be with you, Arwen! And welcome, Daria!

Prayers for Arwen

Just a quick note to ask that you please keep Arwen and her twin baby boys in prayer. She went into labor this afternoon and is at the hospital where they are attempting to stop the contractions.

Her most recent update was: “Our goal now is for me to stay pregnant til Sat afternoon, 24hrs after tomorrow’s 2nd steroid shot. If we make it, we’ll go from there.”

You can get more updates on her Twitter account.

Jesus, Mary, Joseph, St. Anne, and St. Gerard, please pray for Arwen and her babies!
