The Results of Your Prayers
Posted by DariaSockey in News on Monday, September 19, 2011
Introducing Harald Anthony Martin Mathie, my first grandchild. The one I asked prayers for just about two weeks ago when he was delivered at 28 weeks’ gestation.
Baby is doing very well. He’s been breathing on his own right from the start, and seems to resent the c-pap oxygen feed, frequently pulling it off as if to say, “I don’t need this thing!” It will probably be removed in another week or so,... READ MORE
Urgent Prayer Request
Posted by DariaSockey in News on Monday, September 05, 2011
I’d like to impose on all you wonderful, faith-filled women for some prayers today for my first grandchild, who will be born in the next few hours, by c-section, at only 28 weeks’ gestation.
My daughter Bernadette has already been in the hospital on bedrest for the last month following loss of amniotic fluid. Due to some contractions and a high white blood count, the doctors have decided that this little boy will now be better off on the outside of Mom. Please pray for a safe delivery of a healthy baby. Thank you in advance.

I loved watching the #moshertwins hashtag on Twitter last night.
And I LOVED waking up this morning to find that Linus Michael and Ambrose John were born at 12:38 and 12:41 am today.
Babies are doing well and Mom is tweeting her joy. Congratulations to all the Moshers!
Pregnancy Fatigue

My husband and I were getting in the car. I made an “oof” sound as I climbed into my seat, and he glanced at me sympathetically. “I bet you’re ready to be done being pregnant now, huh?”
What? “Of course not! I’m only 30 weeks! It’s way too early for these babies to be born.”
After a pause, I realized he didn’t mean he wants me to give birth now, just that he imagines I’m starting to think fondly of... READ MORE
Prayers for Hallie on Labor Day
Posted by Danielle Bean in News on Monday, September 06, 2010
You might have noticed that we haven’t heard from our resident fashion blogger Hallie Lord in a couple of weeks.
Well, that’s because she’s is on the verge of giving birth to the newest little Lord.
And I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that she is feeling rather ready.
Since this is Labor Day and all, I thought that you might join me in prayer ... for Hallie, for her unborn baby, for her entire... READ MORE
Little Girl Love

This week I had an awesome privilege: the chance to be present at the birth of my very first niece.
Only one of my siblings is married, and Bryan’s an only child, so my sister’s kids are (so far) my sole chance at aunt-hood. She has two boys already and I’d have loved another one just as much, but I am thrilled that Branwen had a girl instead.
(I’m already plotting matching Christmas dresses for our... READ MORE
Music to Birth By
Posted by AGroup in Reviews on Friday, August 06, 2010
Strangely enough, though I typically have some sort of music playing morning, noon and night, I have never listened to music during any of my previous four labors.
I just stumbled across this article, though, and I think I just might like to try incorporating music into my upcoming birth experience. The article states that “if you choose the right music, you can increase your body’s production of... READ MORE

I just received a text from our dear Rachel. The text read as follows:
“Girl!!!”
After I picked myself up off the floor, I managed to text back and request some details. I got this much:
“6.12 pounds. No name yet. We are stunned and delighted.”
God has a way of doing that, doesn’t He?
H-2-Uh-Oh

Out of curiosity: how many of you have actually ever had your water break? In a public place? With great fanfare?
I have not, never with any of my children. But I’ve just been wondering lately how often this really happens. And also reminding myself that the odds are very slim that this will occur.
