More Matt

Check out a new extended version

I was so happy to hear the recent news about a new extended version of one of my favorite Catholic music CDs - “Alive Again” by Matt Maher.  This new version, less than $10 on iTunes, contains two great extra tracks.  This music is my “sing out loud when no one’s listening” guilty pleasure these days.  It brightens my mood, inspires me, and always puts a smile on my face.  It’s what I put on in the car when I need cheering up, in the kitchen when it’s time to mop, or at night when I’m having a hard time sleeping.  If you don’t already own this one, I’d highly recommend it!

Ca C'est Bon!

A song for Saturday!

Last weekend, a commenter left a link to the L’Angelus version of “Be Thou My Vision”, which I enjoyed approximately five hundred times this week.  Hearing it reminded me of this amazing video which I thought I’d share with you today.  After you enjoy it, be sure to head over to the L’Angelus website for more.  You’ll be glad you did!

Pausing to pray

Ordinary Time

One of my favorite songs from Marie Bellet

Fr. John’s post today reminded me of one of my favorite songs - “Ordinary Time” by the amazing Catholic recording artist Marie Bellet.  I shared Marie’s song last week with a group of moms in a retreat setting, and saw more than a few eyes welling up with tears of sentiment.  Being a mom is many things:  fulfilling, inspiring, exhausting, joyful, frustrating—you name it!  And if you don’t like the day you’re having, wait half an hour and see what unfolds next!  I think this song by Marie Bellet so beautifully captures the fleeting season of motherhood and reminds us to fully embrace it in all that it entails. Here is Marie’s video, as my gift to you today and a reminder that Ordinary Time is a true blessing, and never boring!
