As you read this, I am attending the National Theology of the Body Congress in Pennsylvania. Tonight, I will have the great honor of moderating a panel with several notable TOB speakers and authors. It feels fitting to be in this place during NFP Awareness Week, when we the commemorate the anniversary of the papal encyclical Humanae Vitae (July 25) which articulates Catholic beliefs about human... Ordinary Time
Posted by Lisa Hendey in Family on Friday, April 23, 2010
Fr. John’s post today reminded me of one of my favorite songs - “Ordinary Time” by the amazing Catholic recording artist Marie Bellet. I shared Marie’s song last week with a group of moms in a retreat setting, and saw more than a few eyes welling up with tears of sentiment. Being a mom is many things: fulfilling, inspiring, exhausting, joyful, frustrating—you name it! And if you don’t like the day you’re having, wait half an hour and see what unfolds next! I think this song by Marie Bellet so beautifully captures the fleeting season of motherhood and reminds us to fully embrace it in all that it entails. Here is Marie’s video, as my gift to you today and a reminder that Ordinary Time is a true blessing, and never boring!

Dr. Mike has been making music for years, but recently released his new CD Mission, a project inspired by his work with his parish’s middle school EDGE youth group.

I’m a self confessed Catholic music groupie. While other people may be totally into Dave Matthews or Sheryl Crow, I’ll take Matt Maher and Sarah Bauer any day of the week! So you can imagine my excitement this past weekend at being able to personally meet Sarah Bauer at the Catholic New Media Celebration.
Sarah’s songs have a way of touching my heart and inspiring me to try to be a better person. ... READ MORE

Billie Tarascio is not your average housewife. This Catholic mom of three is also a lawyer, providing affordable legal representation to those in need. And as if that weren’t enough, Billie is blossoming as a Catholic rocker with the launch of her debut CD, Send Me. I recently had the chance to interview Billie Tarascio after falling in love with her music.
