It is terribly sad that it often takes an awful event to illuminate the incredible goodness all around us and how much we have to be grateful for.
A family in my neighborhood lost their home in a fire two nights ago. We all heard the sirens in the middle of the night and later heard the terrible news.

I’m so glad Rachel posted the link to Susan Boyle’s performance on Britain’s Got Talent.
If you’ve watched that, I think you’ll enjoy this column from her native Scotland’s Herald.

In Southwest London, two young men in face masks took sledgehammers to a jewelry store in broad daylight.
Though there were 50 or so people witnessing this, only this senior citizen intervened. It’s a great story.
