Matters of the Heart

New Guest Blogger Takes on Catholic Dating

Great news! This week we’ll be welcoming a new guest blogger—Kate Lloyd—a single Catholic woman who will be taking up the topic of dating.

Kate is a 21-year-old political science major at Thomas More College of Liberal Arts in New Hampshire. This summer she is studying in Oxford England, doing several internships, and working. She loves acting, dancing, singing, and spending time with family. In describing her current dating situation, she says, “I am dating a wonderful, sweet guy from my class at college. His name is John and he lives in Maine. I could go on forever about him, so I’ll stop at ‘wonderful.’”

Look for more from Kate this week—I just know you are going to make her feel welcome here!

Please weigh in about the rules in your home.

Over the weekend, I received the following plea from one of my Facebook friends:

Was wondering if you or one of your F&F partners might do an article about teens & dating.  My 15 year-old is interested, and all of the sudden, I’m feeling so unprepared!  I’m looking for what other families do for rules for their teens….

I have been trying for the past few years to be increasingly careful about blogging... READ MORE

18 Places to Fall in Love With Your Spouse

Successful Christian marriages may be best seen as a triangle with God at the top and each partner at the lower corners. The closer we draw to God, the closer we’ll be to each other.

Mignon McLaughlin once said, “A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.” If you’ve ever gone a month without spending any real quality time with your spouse, you know how negatively it can affect your marriage. All relationships need to be nurtured, and none more so than our relationship with our spouse.

Marriage was created to give people companionship.... READ MORE
