Virtual College Fair

We’ve officially entered into “college craziness” in the Hendey home. Now that Eric, our high school junior, has hit his stride during the Spring semester, it’s seriously time to start discerning the college decisions.
Our kitchen table is stacked with AP study guides, SAT practice exams, ACT prep manuals, and two separate “best colleges” books that are the size of the county phone book.
Every day,... READ MORE
Field Trips: Fabulous or Futile?
Posted by Lisa Hendey in Family on Friday, March 20, 2009

Our day was incredible! The three hour bus trip was a pleasure. Maybe the 33 eighth graders aboard my bus were all exhausted from waking up at 4:30 in the morning. I’ve never heard them so quiet on a bus! When... READ MORE

the critical work of the Council will be to help build healthy families and... READ MORE

At Adam’s school and other Catholic schools across the country, we are celebrating “Catholic Schools Week” this week. The theme is “Catholic Schools Celebrate Service” and the emphasis at our school has been on community service and being good citizens.
Our school principal shared the following goal for Catholic Schools Week:
It is a week long celebration to recognize the valuable contributions... READ MORE
Lifelong Learners
Posted by Lisa Hendey in Just me on Thursday, January 22, 2009
This week, I am preparing to write on the topic of how we, as moms, can nurture ourselves spiritually and emotionally by truly becoming lifelong learners. I thought I’d come to my favorite group of experts for your input on this important topic.
It’s ironic that I should be contemplating this topic on a week when I actually admitted to my 8th grade son that there is now earthly way for me to help... READ MORE
Write On!

Danielle’s post earlier this week about Kateri’s gift of writing has me thinking about the joys of putting pen to paper - or fingers to keyboards - and sharing the thoughts that lie deep within our hearts.
Like Kateri, I’m learning to write. I’ve been in the process for years now, honing my skills and learning to listen to that inner voice that encourages me to document the little moments that make... READ MORE
