Fatima Comes to Boston

Since October is the month of the Rosary, and October 13th is the anniversary of what I like to call The Day God proved His Existence to the World (aka the miracle of the sun), I thought it would be a good idea to tell you about my husband’s job.
Bill is the escort of the National Pilgrim Virgin of Our Lady of Fatima. This statue was given to the World Apostolate of Fatima (formerly known as the... READ MORE
Seek To Be Enriched

Benedict XVI met with a group of artists and scientists while in Portugal last week.
That speech makes a good follow-up to last week’s podcast discussion of Christians and the arts.
Using Barbara Nicolosi’s work as a starting point, we chatted about the power of a true story, regardless of whether it’s explicitly Christian.
The Pope also spoke (probably more eloquently!) about the power of truth—and... READ MORE
Benedict At Fatima

Last night the Holy Father consecrated the world’s priests to Our Lady of Fatima.
Here is his beautiful prayer of consecration.
I think the final stanza is particularly lovely:
“Let your presence cause new blooms to burst forth
in the desert of our loneliness,
let it cause the sun to shine on our darkness,
let it restore calm after the tempest,

Pope In Portugal

When a reporter asked about the Third Secret of Fatima, the Pope in essence downplayed the specific meaning and focused on its general prophesy of suffering... READ MORE
Benedict To Fatima

The Pope will visit Portugal next week.
The “heart” of the trip will be a May 13th visit to Fatima.
Vatican press secretary Fr. Federico Lombardi has ignited a mini-storm of curiosity by saying the Pope will deliver an “intense message” at Fatima.
I’ve run across some blogs speculating about matters that are beyond my ken, not being a Fatima expert.
However, if I had to wager I’d predict the Holy... READ MORE
Fatima Film Debuts Next Week
Posted by Danielle Bean in Reviews on Thursday, October 08, 2009
You can read Daria Sockey’s review of the newly-released film about the story of Fatima, The 13th Day, in today’s feature article.
Says Anthony Ryan, Director of Marketing for Ignatius Press, the North American distributor of the film:
“The 13th Day is an antidote film for our time. It is a reminder that a thin veil exists between our world and the next. The Message of Fatima is a relevant wake-up call to a culture torn apart by abortion, war, and injustice. Every Catholic, perhaps every person, should see this film.”
Check out Catholic Screenings to learn more about where you can register for a screening of this inspiring new film.
