Green Birth Control

Organic-this and chemical-free-that is all the rage these days and it’s nice to know that when it comes to child-spacing, couples who use NFP are ahead of the curve. Our methods are green!
(Please don’t be offended by the term “birth control”—I understand that NFP isn’t b.c.)
In light of today’s conversation started by Danielle, I have been thinking about NFP and the bad rap it gets—and not just from... READ MORE

My husband is one of the very few people I know who has absolutely no Irish blood in his lineage. It’s very strange because I feel like just about everyone else in this land has at least a drop or two of Irish blood running through their veins.

Henry got this very cute truck for his birthday this summer, and when we were out playing in the yard today I thought “I need to tell somebody how great this thing is!”
Dear reader, this thing is great!
The toy is called the Sprig Toys Hollow DuneBug’s Sand Truck Playset. It’s touted as being green and environmentally friendly and that is wonderful. But what attracted me to this gem is that it’s more than just a truck—it’s a shovel, rake, and bucket too! These pieces all come together to form the truck and can easily transform from one thing into the others.
I recommend putting this on your favorite toddler’s Christmas list. Two thumbs up!

For the past few days, I’ve been working away in my home office with the pitter-patter of work boots on the roof over my head. We’ve been saving up for about three years to gather enough cash to install a partial solar energy system on our home. This week, the big moment of installation finally came!
The motivation behind this investment is largely financial. Out here in California, the cost of... READ MORE
