A Viable VBS Option

Vacation Bible School that's Catholic, flexible, and free!

The good folks at Holy Heroes have done it again.

The same people who offer Advent and Lenten aids that Catholic families can use at home have announced a new program, Summer Faith Adventure, for Summer 2009:

“Choose your week to receive 5 daily emails full of short videos, activities, prayers, songs, all-new coloring pages, quizzes, and puzzles, everything you need to have a summer camp in your own home or backyard.”

This is a great option for a Catholic VBS program, one that you can keep simple or add to as you see fit. If you have signed up for other Holy Heroes programs in the past, you will need to update your profile to receive the summer program during the week of your choice. If you haven’t participated in the past, simply provide your email address and choose the week that works best for you. Here’s the link to sign up.

Summer Faith Adventure is a free way to give your kids faith formation and inspiration during the summer months ... what could be more awesome than that?

Lenten Adventure

Many of you enjoyed receiving Advent Adventure emails from the good folks at Holy Heroes at the end of last year.

Now for the season of Lent, they are offering a new program—Lenten Adventure. Sign up to receive three emails a week linking you to videos, activities, and printable resources for Catholic families throughout the season of Lent.

More information and registration.

Be Prepared

Only 20 days till Advent!

I just bought my Advent candles—have you?

For your shopping convenience, Aquinas and More Catholic Goods has a page devoted to Advent resources and The Catholic Company does as well.

This year, there is a great new resource for parents who struggle to prepare for Christmas while observing a meaningful Advent. Check out Advent Adventure, brought to you by the people who bring us Holy Heroes:

Every day during Advent we will send you an email with a link that takes you to that day’s activities. You’ll see short videos, listen to short audio selections, download coloring pictures, word searches and games, take quizzes to see what you’ve learned, and more.
